Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Arius Wolf, Pastor
Pastor* was raised in a spiritual home and has known that God was real ever since he had a moving experience in a Buddhist temple in Thailand where his parents were missionaries. He feels that he accepted Jesus as his personal savior around age 5, but then struggled with various sins--primarily heavy drug and alcohol abuse in his teens and sexual promiscuity in college--until he rededicated his life around age 25. His practice of transcendental meditation mixed with his commitment to hardcore tantric yoga helped him reconnect with the divinity that is in all created things.

After rededicating his life, he quit all of his sins cold turkey and has run hard after the Lord since then in virtually complete holiness. He married his long-time sweetheart, Delilah, on New Year's Day 2006. They have twin sons, who were a gift from God born on June 5, 2006.

He did his undergraduate work at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA; got his Master of Arts in Religion degree from Yale Divinity School in New Haven, CT; and is currently working on his doctorate under a world-famous textual critic who is currently the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at UNC Chapel Hill.

In his free time, Pastor enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, hiking, reading theology (especially the works of Adolf von Harnack and Creflo Dollar), and spending time going places with friends on his Dassault Falcon.

*Note: When visiting Amatheis, it will be helpful to know that in our church culture we refer to our chief executive officer as "Pastor." Not Arius or Mr. Wolf or Pastor Arius or even Pastor Wolf. We only refer to him as Pastor. To visit and refer to our chief elder as anything other than Pastor will be frowned upon so it's good to know before visiting our compound. Additionally, it is also customary to rise to your feet when he enters the room. Please respect these customs.
